Nick Myers to Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall, Atlantic City

Nick Myers is appointed tonal director of organs for Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall, Atlantic City, New Jersey, where he will oversee the tonal integrity, finishing, regulation, voicing, and musical refinement of the Boardwalk Hall Organ as restoration continues. Myers has been tuning pipe organs since the age of eighteen and has devoted most of his life to the study of music composition, orchestration, theater, and vocal performance. He earned degrees in composition from Bradley University and New York University. As a composer, Myers’s choral works have appeared on national best-seller lists, and his music has been performed throughout the United States, including performances at Carnegie Hall. His work is published with Alfred Music.

After turning his lifelong passion into a profession, Myers focused his expertise on pipe regulation and voicing, specializing in high-pressure theatre organs and orchestral organs. He has developed expertise in string and color reed voicing and regulation. Following several years restoring divisions of the Wanamaker Organ in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, working on numerous theatre organ restoration projects, and contributing to restoration work at Boardwalk Hall, Myers joined the Historic Organ Restoration Committee (HORC) at Boardwalk Hall full-time in 2022 as a member of the tonal department. In addition to his work with HORC, Myers serves as director of music at the Parish of St. Monica in Atlantic City. He is a member of the American Institute of Organbuilders and currently serves as chair of the New York Theatre Organ Society.
