The factory of organ pipe manufacturer Jacques Stinkens Orgelpijpenmakers B.V., Zeist, the Netherlands, burned in a catastrophic fire on March 21.
The company was founded in 1914, was a holder of a royal warrant since 2014, and supplied organ pipes to builders around the world. The industrial area surrounding the factory was cordoned off, and residents were instructed to keep their windows and doors closed due to the spreading smoke until the fire was struck hours after it was reported.
The historic production equipment of this family-owned business appears to be a total loss. Fire crews from Den Dolder and Werkhoven joined the effort to combat the blaze.
