Butz‑Musikverlag announces new additions to its organ catalog.

Martin Doering’s new volume Famous Organs in Breathtaking Images (BuB 36) presents 49 notable instruments from 16 European countries and the United States in 460 high‑quality color photographs. The book combines concise descriptions of each church or concert hall with brief histories of the organs and their development, complemented by striking interior views, detailed close‑ups, and unusual perspectives made possible through state‑of‑the‑art digital photography. Complete specifications, including recent modifications, accompany every instrument, and all texts appears in parallel English and German. This luxurious 208‑page hardcover edition (large format 24 × 30 cm) stands as a distinguished visual tribute to the organ’s artistic and architectural richness.

Lambert Kleesattel’s Tanz–Album (BU 3164) offers twelve stylistically varied dance movements, from waltz and polka‑galop to ragtime and a tango with Gregorian undertones, crafted with melodic charm, harmonic finesse, and idiomatic organ writing suitable for moderate skill levels, most playable on a single manual. Also newly published are Fünf Orgeltranskriptionen (BU 3166), in which Kleesattel presents organ versions of character pieces by Finnish composer Oskar Merikanto, long associated with the Walcker organ of Helsinki’s New Church. These transcriptions, expressive and immediately appealing in their Nordic color, enrich Merikanto’s modest organ output and serve equally well in liturgical and concert settings.
