David McIntyre is appointed music director for the Catholic Diocese of Orlando, Florida, and St. James Cathedral, Orlando. 

Starting his training in small-town Maine, he completed his master’s degree in sacred music at the Boston University School of Theology and his bachelor’s degree in oboe performance at The Hartt School, Hartford, Connecticut. His education and experience combine liturgy, early music, church diversity, and interfaith dialogue. 

McIntyre performs regularly as a countertenor, singing choral and solo repertoire from the Renaissance and Baroque periods to new compositions. He also performs on organ, piano, oboe, recorder, and flute. His vocal and instrumental compositions have been featured by choirs across the United States.
