Dr. J. Butz new publications
Dr. J. Butz Music Publishers announces new organ publications and a book.
The Best Loved Melodies series continues with volume 6, available in pedaliter (BU 3174) and manualiter (BU 3175) editions. The volume contains ten works from classical repertoire in easy-to-play arrangements, including pieces by Bach, Handel, Beethoven, Mozart, Fauré, Purcell, Widor (an easy version of his “Toccata”), and others. The transcriptions were prepared by Christopher Tambling. The series Festive Preludes and Postludes of German Romanticism is expanded with volume 3, an anthology of twelve pieces suited as preludes and postludes for church (BU 3172).
The Buxtehude Studies series continues with a German translation of André Pirro’s classic French study of Dieterich Buxtehude (Paris, 1913), which remains a standard reference work today. The book is edited by Matthias Schneider and Jürgen Heering with a foreword by Ton Koopman (BUB 37, 464 pages, hardcover).
