Paul Jacobs will present two Bach programs in New York City this month.
He will perform J. S. Bach’s The Art Of Fugue at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, September 9, and will recreate Mendelssohn’s legendary 1840 Leipzig Bach program at the Church of St. Mary the Virgin, September 16.
Jacobs is celebrating 25 years since he first made musical history at age 23 by performing Bach’s complete organ works in an 18-hour marathon on the 250th anniversary of the composer’s death. He is the only organist ever to have won a Grammy Award—in 2011 for Messiaen’s Livre du Saint-Sacrament.

Prior to the New York recitals, Jacobs played The Art of Fugue this July 7th with the Oregon Bach Festival. He will also perform The Art of Fugue in Los Angeles at the Walt Disney Hall October 12.
