Buzard restoration of Hook & Hastings Opus 1144
John-Paul Buzard Pipe Organ Builders of Champaign, Illinois, has restored the 1883 Hook & Hastings Opus 1144 for Church of the Holy Communion, Lake Geneva, Wisconsin.
The instrument will be rededicated in recital on August 4, 6:00 p.m., with a program presented by Max Yount, director of music and organist for First Congregational Church and professor emeritus of music at Beloit College, both of Beloit, Wisconsin, including works by Handel, Copland, Bach, Hindemith, Vaughan Williams, and Mendelssohn. Other instrumentalists include Marianne Peterson, oboe, and Emily Sobacki, violin.
