American Organ Academy seminars and concerts
The American Organ Academy, Hartville, Ohio, announces upcoming seminars. An advanced voicing seminar will occur October 19–20 at Boardwalk Hall, Atlantic City, New Jersey. The academy and the Historic Organ Restoration Committee partner for a two-day seminar on advanced flue and reed voicing techniques. Registration includes meals both days and a masterclass on improvisation.
A seminar on electricity in the pipe organ will be held January 28–30, 2027, in Hartville, Ohio. Participants will learn what diodes do, improve soldering skills, and install, program, and troubleshoot a control system. Charles Kegg will lead the fundamental track, and representatives from Peterson Electro-Musical Products, IOTI, and Walker Technical Systems will give students the opportunity for detailed learning about Peterson and Walker control systems. Cost is $1,800 per person and includes meals.
The academy presents two concerts in Ohio: October 16, a Spooktacular Concert, hosted by Christ Presbyterian Church, Canton, featuring American Organ Academy students, faculty, and guests, with classics, costumes, and more; December 12, a Holiday Pipes benefit concert with John Schwandt and others at the Blackstone residence, Bratenahl.
