From the consultant:

A new, encased mechanical action organ, by builder Steven
Cook, was installed in March of 2000, at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church,
Bremerton, Washington. The organ, located in the rear gallery of the nave, has
21 stops derived from 21 ranks, playable on two manuals and pedal.

New Organs

The Reuter Organ Company, Lawrence, Kansas, has built a new
organ for University Presbyterian Church in Seattle, Washington. Opus 2196 is a
large instrument of 93 ranks across four manuals and pedal (with preparations
for a total of 104 ranks). Jo Ann Stremler is resident organist.

Andover Organ Company, Methuen, Massachusetts, has completed
a new organ, Opus 111, for the University of North Carolina at Greensboro; 36
stops, 1,889 pipes, compass 58/32. The organ sits on a stage at the head of an
ellipse and rises 28 feet. Donald H. Olson, designer, stated, "this case
is an idea that has had a gestation period of about 30 years, waiting for just
the right building."

The Reuter Organ Company, Lawrence, Kansas, has built a new
organ for Second Congregational Church, Grand Rapids, Michigan. The firm's Opus
2197 comprises 49 ranks, 38 stops, for a total of 2,763 pipes; there are 9
digital voices. The organ is located in three chambers: Swell on the left,
Great in the center, and Choir on the right. The Tuba is housed in a separate
box inside the Choir chamber and has its own set of expression shades; thus one
can use both sets of shades for dynamic control.

Martin Pasi and Associates of Roy, Washington, has recently
completed an organ of 33 stops for St. Augustine Catholic Church in Spokane,
Washington. Installation of the firm’s Opus 11 followed a major
renovation of the church that substantially enlivened the acoustics of the tall
cruciform structure. Built with mechanical key and electric stop action, the
organ features a detached console, allowing flexibility in the placement of
choir and instrumentalists. The sound, while room filling, is rich and gentle on
the ear.

New Organs

Fabry Pipe Organs, Inc., Fox Lake, Illinois, has completed
the final phase of a three-phase renovation of the organ at St. John's
Episcopal Church, Sturgis, Michigan. Originally built by Wicks as a two chambered,
four division instrument, the organ comprises 31 ranks on three manuals and
pedal. Phase I included re-leathering of all wind supply reservoir units, the
addition of electric tremolo units, and solid state expression systems.
