Matthew Noonan

Matthew Noonan is a graduate of the Eastman School of Music, The Greatbach School of Music at Houghton University, and the Fredonia School of Music. Matthew won several competitions and awards in organ performance. Besides AGO competitions in 1991, 1992, and 1993, Matthew won the Arthur Poister international award in 1994 for his organ playing.

Known for his interpretations of Baroque music, Matthew has specialized in the organ works of Johann Sebastian Bach. His European debut was in Paris in 1992 at age 20 and he continued to perform in many historic venues for many years. Matthew has performed in many churches of note throughout the world. In 2005 he performed for a royal audience at the Royal chapel near London.

Matthew is the organist for two churches, Messiah Lutheran church of Charlotte, North Carolina, and Holy Trinity Lutheran church of Gastonia, North Carolina. He is also the elementary school music teacher at The Math and Science Academy of Charlotte. Matthew specializes in early music and is available for recitals and special events.
