Thomas Sheehan to Washington National Cathedral

Thomas Sheehan is appointed organist at the National Cathedral in Washington, D.C., effective in July. He leaves the position of associate organist at the Memorial Church, Harvard University, Cambridge Massachusetts.

Sheehan previously served at Saint Mark’s Church, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and Trinity Church, Princeton, New Jersey.

Currently finishing his Ph.D. at Boston University, Sheehan is a graduate of the Curtis Institute of Music, Philadelphia, and Westminster Choir College, Princeton. At Westminster, he studied organ with Ken Cowan. He also studied improvisation with Matthew Glandorf, Ford Lallerstedt, and Bruce Neswick. He has performed across the United States, Canada, and Europe.

Thomas Sheehan is a member of The Diapason’s 20 Under 30 Class of 2016.
