Kim Heindel retires
Kim Heindel has retired as organist at Mount Washington Presbyterian Church, Cincinnati, Ohio, after more than twenty years of service. A celebration was held following his final worship service on Pentecost Sunday, May 24.
In addition to playing for worship services, he has accompanied the choir in major choral works over the years on organ and harpsichord. Prior to accepting this position in 2005, he served a number of churches in the Philadelphia area and was university organist at Lehigh University, Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, from 1987 to 1993.
In past years Heindel has served on the executive committee of the Cincinnati Chapter of the American Guild of Organists. He will continue to maintain his teaching and performance studio, which includes a nine-rank J. W. Walker organ, a double-manual Saxon harpsichord, and double-manual Lautenwerk, both built by Willard Martin, as well as a 1906 Steinway Model B recital grand piano.
