Organ Music in New England: Cultivating a Living Tradition

Acis announces a new organ recording, Organ Music in New England: Cultivating a Living Tradition, featuring Justin J. Murphy-Mancini performing on the 1834 Joseph Alley organ of the First Religious Society, Unitarian-Universalist, Newburyport, Massachusetts. 

Works from Spanish and English immigrants to composers of the 19th and 20th centuries are featured to honor the late Barbara Owen as well as the 300th anniversary of the congregation. The program includes world premiere recordings of music by Manuel Emilio, George Chadwick, and Murphy-Mancini alongside works by John Knowles Paine, Dudley Buck, Edith Lang, and others.
