Bach Fugue in C Minor, S. 562

Bach, Fugue in C Minor, S. 562

Johann Sebastian Bach’s S. 562, Fugue (fragment) in C-minor is paired with an eloquent Fantasia, a single-subject five-voice contrapuntal composition, perhaps a lesser known opus with a curious history. The autograph fugue fragment fills the fourth page of two folios, likely an addition begun in Bach’s latter years. It has been combined with a realization and completion that is now featured in an occasional—and unusual—complimentary issue from Fruhauf Music Publications.

The letter-sized booklet PDF file includes notes, seven pages of music and an appendix. The file download will be featured throughout 2018, available from FMPs’ home page Bulletin Board and to be found at: www.frumuspub.net.
