French choir to perform at Mound, Sinsinawa, Wisconsin

SINSINAWA, Wis.-Choeur Opus 39, a touring choir from Arbois, France, will
perform in Queen of the Rosary Chapel at Sinsinawa Mound at 7 p.m. Friday,
April 11. Under the direction of Christian Bacheley, the choir comprises
30 women and 15 men. They have performed major concerts including:
Requiem by Faure, Credo and Gloria by Vivaldi, Messa Criolla by Ramirez,
Carmina Burana by Carl Orff, Requiem by Mozart, Messe de Minuit by Marc
Antoine Charpentier, Gloria by Poulenc, and Petite Messe Solennelle by
Rossini. A freewill offering will be taken.


The tour is part of an international relationship developed between members
of Zion Lutheran Church in Iowa City and the French choir. This will be the
first trip to the United States for many of the choir members, who range in
age from 45 to 75.
