Organ faculty Richard Hoskins performs a recital on Carthage’s remarkable Fritsch Memorial Organ on Thursday, October 16, 2014 at 7:30 p.m. in the A. F. Siebert Chapel at Carthage College, 2001 Alford Park Drive, Kenosha WI 53140. The recital is free and open to the public, and features works by Bach, Franck, Messiaen, Buxtehude, and countless others.
Organ Music for Advent & Christmas
Organ works based on Advent and Christmas themes, chorales, and carols from many traditions make up an impressive and colorful body of organ literature. MAPC’s Director of Music will present some of his favorites in this pre-Christmas recital! His program includes chorale settings by Bach and Buxtehude; noëls by Daquin and Guilmant; and excerpts from Olivier Messiaen’s La Nativité du Seigneur.
