The 46th annual William C. (“Bill”) Hall Pipe Organ Competition took place March 4 at First Presbyterian Church, San Antonio, Texas. Competitors must be current undergraduate or graduate students attending a Texas college or university. Judges were Brice Gerlach, Damin Spritzer, and Ross Wood.
In the undergraduate competition, first prize (Bess Hieronymous Award, $1,000) was presented to Isaac Foreman (Texas Christian University); second prize ($750) to Jared Cook (Baylor University); Hymn playing prize (Madolyn Douglas Fallis Award, $250) to Isaac Foreman.
In the graduate competition, first prize (William C. Wiederhold Award, $1,400) was presented to Inah Park (Southern Methodist University), second prize ($900) to Yunjung Lee (Southern Methodist University), and hymn playing prize (Alamo Chapter American Guild of Organists Chapter Award, $250) to Patrick Parker (University of Houston, a member of The Diapason’s 20 Under 30 Class of 2017).
