Vaughn Mauren has been appointed artistic director of the Albert Schweitzer Organ Festival Hartford, Hartford, Connecticut. He succeeds the late David Spicer who founded the competition and festival and served for 19 years as its first artistic director.
Mauren is organist and choirmaster at St. James’s Episcopal Church, West Hartford, Connecticut. He is a graduate of Trinity College, Hartford, and holds a graduate degree from Yale University. Among several new members elected to the festival’s board of directors are Diane Meredith Belcher and Christopher Houlihan.
