Metropolis at the Kotzschmar

The Friends of the Kotzschmar Organ, Merrill Auditorium, Portland, Maine, presents Peter Kraskinski, accompanying the silent film, Metropolis, a 1927 German science-fiction epic, on March 6, 2016, 3:00 p.m. With the largest budget of the time, Fritz Lang‘s masterpiece features huge sets, costumes, props, and crowds of extras. The scale of the stylized world and story around it made Metropolis one of the first major science fiction films and one that continues to be referenced today.
