New Organs
Dobson Pipe Organ Builders, Ltd.
style='font-weight:normal'>, Lake City, IA, has completed its opus 63 for
McKinley Presbyterian Church in Champaign, IL. Built for a congregation with an
active student and social ministry, the installation of the organ coincided
with the renovation of the church's chancel. The new organ replaces M.P.
Möller's op. 8383 of 1953, an enchambered three-manual, 27-rank organ
which was damaged by fire in 1991. The Dobson organ, which employs mechanical
key and stop actions, is placed in a freestanding position in the chancel.
