Richards, Fowkes & Co.

Richards, Fowkes & Co. was founded in 1988 by Ralph Richards and Bruce Fowkes in Ooltewah, TN. Over 20 years the company has completed 16 instruments that range from a 1 manual meantone organ for Mercer University, to an imposing 3 manual instrument for Pinnacle Presbyterian in Scottsdale, AZ. All organs have mechanical key action. Smaller organs have mechanical stop action while larger ones have electric controls and memory systems. Cases vary from simple white oak to ornate faux bois with 18th c. carvings. Currently the company is building a new organ for St. George’s, Hanover Square, London. The most famous parishioner there from 1724 until his death in 1759 was George Frederick Handel.
