Cornel Zimmer Organ Builders is owned and operated by Cornel Zimmer, a fourth generation organ builder. Cornel Zimmer?s great grandfather, Bernard Pels, established the Pels Organ Company in 1893 in Alkmaar, Holland. Cornel?s grandfather, Wilhelm Zimmer, from Germany became involved with the business. Cornel?s father, Franz, was born in Alkmaar in 1936. In 1951, Wilhelm moved his family to South Africa and bought the Mueller Organ Company. In 1964, the Zimmer family moved Charlotte, NC and established W. Zimmer and Sons, Incorporated. After extensive research, Cornel became more and more intrigued by the merits of the newer digital technology and how that technology could be combined w
