The Diapason June 2013 Newsletter

June 19, 2013

From the editor

Welcome to THE DIAPASON E-News.

This marks my last issue as editor and publisher. After serving for 30 years, I will transition to "semi-retirement," and will continue in the role of sales manager, responsible for advertising and subscriptions. And, I will assist with editorial and production as needed.

Effective July 1, Joyce Robinson will assume the role of managing editor. Joyce has served as associate editor for the last 13 years, and has written reviews for several years before that.  And we will be bringing in additional editorial help—more on that later. We envision a seamless transition, and will continue the mission of The Diapason.

Among the stories in this issue:  Benjamin Sheen wins Longwood Gardens Organ Competition;  David H. Binkley honored for 40 years at Camp Hill (Pennsylvania) Presbyterian Church;  Richard Coffey steps down after 40 years as artistic director of CONCORA;  Alan Morrison makes his Russian debut;  Stephen Tharp concludes his 42nd world tour;  James Welch honored for 20 years at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Palo Alto, California;  Goulding & Wood holds open house for their Opus 50;  Schoenstein & Co. to build a new organ for Georgetown University, and more.
