In 1972 David K. Pierce purchased the 1907 Kilgen organ from Zion Lutheran Church in Pittsburg, Kansas. He and his friend Bynum Petty moved it to David’s home in Denton, Texas. David refinished the case, replaced all leather, felt parts, pads and bushings. In 1987 Roy Redman Organ Co. rebuilt the organ, replacing tracker parts with aluminum, enlarged the stoplist and added new casework. The organ looks, works and sounds like new.
