The Diapason October 2016 Newsletter

October 24, 2016

Welcome to THE DIAPASON eNEWS.

We are pleased to note numerous concert series from coast to coast: some you will surely know, others perhaps not, but worthy to peruse!

In news from the UK, Eleanor Carter has been named the first female organ scholar at Clare College, Cambridge, and Daniel Moult has been appointed associate head of organ studies for Birmingham Conservatoire. Young American organists Benjamin Henderson and Adam Chlebek have played recitals here and abroad, and Arthur E. Schlueter, Jr. has been honored for long-time service. In personal news, we commend to your memory the passing of Raymond Daveluy, Robert Burns King, and Temple Painter.

Pro Organo offers a new “Nordic Journey” recording by James D. Hicks, and the 15th International César Franck Competition will take place May 16–20, 2017, in the Netherlands.

From our organbuilders, Orgues Létourneau has contracted with Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd in Austin, Texas, and Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Greeneville, Tennessee, dedicated its new two-manual, 15-rank Randall Dyer & Assoc. organ.
