The Diapason June 2016 Newsletter

June 27, 2016

Welcome to THE DIAPASON eNEWS.

Summer has begun and we're fully into convention season! The American Guild of Organists' annual convention was recently held in Houston. See below for news of the National Young Artists Competition in Organ Playing—congratulations to Katelyn Emerson, one of our "20 under 30" winners. And congratulations to Thomas Dahl, who won the first and audience prizes in the National Competition in Organ Improvisation.

Another notable competition is that of Longwood Gardens. Congratulations to the winners: Joshua Stafford (Pierre S. du Pont First Prize); Alcee Chriss III (Firmin Swinnen Second Prize), one of this year's 20 under 30 winners; Colin MacKnight (Clarence Snyder Third Prize); and Greg Zelek (Audience Choice Prize), also one of this year's 20 under 30 winners.

Our newsletter sponsor is Glück Pipe Organs, whose installation at Marble Collegiate Church, NYC, is featured on the cover the June issue of THE DIAPASON. Clicking on their ads will take you to their website.
