The Diapason June 2014 Newsletter

June 18, 2014

Welcome to THE DIAPASON eNEWS.

In this issue we note the passing of James Leslie Boeringer and Ruth Ann Hofstad Ferguson. Summer recitals are being presented by Philip Crozier and David Jonies; Christophe Mantoux will teach at the Blois Organ Academy. The International Organ Festival Haarlem (the Netherlands) takes place July 12–26, and includes the 50th Improvisation Competition.

New recordings feature Faythe Freese,  Jon Gillock, and and Kent Tritle. A new online harpsichord method has been published by Frank Mento. Awards include the Albert Schweitzer Prize, presented to Daniel Roth, and the results of the Young Artists Competition in Organ Performance, held in Greenville, North Carolina. Information on new organs and organ projects comes from the Andover Organ Company, Juget-Sinclair Organbuilders, and Orgues Létourneau.
