The Diapason January 2017 Newsletter

January 17, 2017

This is my first newsletter to you since I became Editor of THE DIAPASON at the beginning of this month. I look forward to sharing with you many, many interesting items in upcoming issues of our journal. My unending thanks go to Joyce Robinson and Jerome Butera for their continuing assistance as I learn the many duties to carry out in this new position. As I write this in mid-January, we have just sent our February issue to press, which was an exciting accomplishment for me.

With this month, we begin a new year. We look forward to announcing THE DIAPASON's 20 Under 30 Class of 2017. Nominations are presently being accepted until February 1. Please be sure to consider worthy young people you know who are making an extraordinary contribution to the world of the organ, harpsichord, carillon, and church music. For a list of members of our 2015 and 2016 Classes, be sure to visit our website and click on 20 Under 30 at the right. While you are there, you can submit your nominations of people for us to consider for 2017. We will announce our honored group in March at our website and in May in our printed issue.

Our newsletter sponsor is Parkey OrganBuilders, whose Opus 16 is featured on the cover of the January 2017 issue of THE DIAPASON. The organ was recently completed for the First United Methodist Church of Dalton, Georgia.
