Laura Ellis

Laura Ellis is Associate Director and Professor for the School of Music at the University of Florida. Dr. Ellis teaches undergraduate and graduate organ, harpsichord, and carillon. In addition to her duties as university organist, she oversees the Andrew Anderson Memorial Organ in the University Auditorium, the carillon in the Century Tower, and the historic keyboard instruments housed within the School of Music.

Accolades for her recording Music from the Testaments Old and New include “plays brilliantly” and performs “with insight and expressive control.” This 2-CD set features contemporary interpretations of biblical texts and is available from RavenCDLegacy: Laura Ellis Plays the Organ Works of Jeanne Demessieux was released under the Pro Organo label.

Ellis has performed solo recitals at Piccolo Spoleto (Charleston, SC), Westminster Abbey, University of Sydney (Australia), and various locations throughout Florida, Texas, and the South. In May 2018 she performed a series of solo recitals and presented a masterclass in Seoul, South Korea. Recital engagements have also included appearances with the University of Florida Symphony Orchestra, the Jacksonville (FL) Symphony and she has performed at regional conventions of the American Guild of Organists (AGO).
