January 20, 2016

Simon Thomas Jacobs’ debut recording, Parthenia Nova, has been released on the Fugue State label.

This is the first commercial recording on the new Richards, Fowkes & Co. organ of St. George’s, Hanover Square, London, England. Opus 18 is the first American pipe organ to be installed in London, in a church with a notable musical heritage. The disc includes world premiere recordings of works by Joel Martinson, David Sanger, and Philip Moore.

Jacobs, a native of England, is interim organist and choirmaster for St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. In 2015, he was awarded an Artist Diploma from Oberlin Conservatory of Music where he studied with James David Christie, and he was named a member of The Diapason’s “20 under 30” Class of 2015. He won first prize and the audience prize at the 2013 St. Albans International Organ Competition. He is represented in the United States by Phillip Truckenbrod Concert Artists.
