Shadyside concerts

Shadyside Presbyterian Church presents “Music for Midsummer Nights,” a mini-series of concerts on Wednesday evenings in June. The series concludes with the return of Chanticleer on Wednesday, June 24.

§  Wednesday, June 3, at 7:00 p.m. Baroque violinist Andrew Fouts and harpsichordist Justin Wallace present music of Bach, Castello, and Handel.

§  Wednesday, June 10, at 7:00 p.m. Soprano Kathy Linger, pianist Ellen Fast, and clarinetist Ron Samuels present Franz Schubert’s lied, The Shepherd on the Rock, as well as music of Strauss, Handel, and Purcell.

§  Wednesday, June 17, at 7:00 p.m. Soprano Erica Washburn and pianist Justin Wallace present “Songs of Emily Dickinson,” with musical settings by Wallace, Butler, Copland, and more.

§  Wednesday, June 24, at 8:00 p.m. Chanticleer presents “The Gypsy in My Soul,” co-sponsored by Music in a Great Space and the Pittsburgh Chapter of the American Guild of Organists.

Admission for the hour-long concerts on June 3, 10, and 17 costs $5 each. Tickets for June 24 cost $25 each. Pre-ordering tickets is strongly recommended: www.agopgh2015.com. At-door ticket availability may be limited.
