Michael Silhavy has been appointed senior editor for church music at GIA Publications, Inc. He will set the overall editorial direction of GIA’s sacred music publications and work with GIA’s editorial and management teams and the advisory board.
Silhavy’s 30 years of experience in parish, cathedral, university, and diocesan settings include more than 15 years as director of music for the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis. He has been GIA’s associate senior editor since 2014 and also worked as an editor at GIA from 1985 to 1990. He succeeds David Anderson, who will move into a new role as editor-at-large.
